Q & A

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can it be used for viola as well?

A. Yes.
DIDIM chinrest covers are made in a generous size, allowing them to fit viola chinrests as well.
The non-slip lining inside helps keep the cover securely in place and prevents it from moving easily, even on different sizes and shapes of chinrests.

Q. Can it be used with special or unusual chinrests?

A. Yes.
DIDIM offers three types (Compact / Wide / Ribbon) so you can choose the best option for different chinrest shapes.
The most common Guarneri-style chinrest is compatible with all three types.
Please refer to the compatibility chart below for more details.

Q. Is it washable?

A. Yes.
Hand washing is recommended.
If using a washing machine, place the cover in a laundry bag and use a mild detergent.

Q. Will the band stretch over time?

A. DIDIM bands are thin, elastic, and adjustable.
They are designed to maintain elasticity and do not easily stretch out.
If the band loosens with long-term use, you can shorten the length or replace it with another band.

Q. Which fabric should I choose?

A. Each DIDIM fabric has different characteristics in softness, absorbency, and durability.
You can choose the fabric that best suits your playing style and preferred level of comfort.
Please refer to the fabric guide below for more details.

Q. Can the band or silicone lining be removed?

A. Yes.
The silicone lining, band, and ribbon can be cut or removed if desired.
The band position can also be adjusted and attached to the endpin if preferred.

Q. What is custom order?

A. Since DIDIM products are not mass-produced, some designs may occasionally be out of stock.
Out-of-stock items can be made upon request and are usually produced within 1–2 weeks.
Additional customization such as adjusting the length or size is also available with an extra cost.
